2 Get everyone on the same page of understanding the importance of what’s required, what’s at stake, and why

3 Like it or not, diligence and compliance is MANDATORY
IEPA NPDES permit (1 acre or more disturbance) City and/or County permit(500 sf or more land disturbance) City and/or County MS4 permit (any land disturbance City and/or County Ordinance (any land disturbance Clean Water Act (any land disturbance)

General Contractors – their name is on the docs Sub Contractors – they should be signing the docs too Utility companies – tracking and stockpiling, ESC destruction Concrete company – washout location Painters – washout location Plasterers – washout location Trucking company – tracking, ESC destruction Electricians – tracking, ESC destruction Plumbers – tracking and digging, ESC destruction Delivery companies – tracking, ESC destruction

6 Who Should Attend? Inspectors – tracking Design engineer –
they wrote the SWPPP for a reason They can answer questions City Staff – We approved the SWPPP for a reason Use our knowledge and our experience! Landscaper – tracking, stabilization measures and timelines, ESC removal ESC subcontractor – make sure they know their role and that you understand their role Anyone else onsite whether planned on just showing up

Tracking Parking/tracking Perimeter controls Grading methods and staging Designated washout areas Temporary stabilization – when and how Final stabilization – when and how

8 Discussion Points Potential/Suggested changes, alterations, etc.
Inspection-responsible party ESC repairs-responsible party Ask others if they have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. MAKE IT WORK FOR EVERYONE!

9 Meeting’s Over, Now What?
Update the SWPPP w/changes, alterations, deletions, signature pages, pre-con attendance sheets, etc. Submit newly updated SWPPP to IEPA & City Begin work and inspections Update signature pages as new subs arrive Alter/change SWPPP as necessary Call subsequent meetings if needed. Watch the site for newcomers! Resubmit SWPPP as necessary
