7 Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program (DepED Order No. 8, s. 2015)

8 Monitoring and evaluation are done by the following:
2. How do you ensure implementation of policies or frameworks that guide curriculum, and assessment? (Is there a mechanism/procedure/organization which works to ensure alignment between curriculum and assessment? How does this work?) The Central Office issues guidelines through DepED Orders and Memoranda for dissemination to the field personnel in the regional and division offices and schools. Monitoring and evaluation are done by the following: Quality Assurance Division – Regional Office Curriculum and Instruction Division – Division Office

10 3. How do you reflect competency-based approach in designing national curriculum and assessment?
Assessment in the classroom is aimed at helping students perform well in relation to the learning standards. Learning standards comprise content standards, performance standards, and learning competencies that are outlined in the curriculum.

11 Components on the Design of Assessment:
3. How do you reflect competency-based approach in designing national curriculum and assessment? Components on the Design of Assessment: 1. Content Standards – identify and set the essential knowledge and understanding that should be learned. 2. Performance Standards – describe the abilities and skills that learners are expected to demonstrate in relation to the contents standards and integration of 21st century skills. 3. Learning Competencies – refer to the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes that students need to demonstrate in every lesson and/or learning activity

4. To what extent the result of national assessment is being used in developing national curriculum? Test results are released to the end-users of test data 1. Policy makers – DepED authorities and legislators 2. Curriculum developers – DepED central office 3. Field personnel – for planning, monitoring, and evaluation 4. School personnel – for intervention 5. Stakeholders 6. Test-takers/students
