The Olympic Rings 5 interlocking rings make up the Olympic Emblem.
The rings are of equal dimensions and are in 5 different colours. The colours are blue, yellow, black, green and red on a white background. Each ring represents a continent and the joining of the rings represents the union of these continents. The continents are North and South America (these are considered one area), Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe. The Olympic symbol was originally designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
