MAIN GOAL CAPTAIN overall objective is to improve accessibility and mobility across Adriatic Ionian (AI) area and its hinterland through the development of sustainable, safe, cross border (CB) and integrated transport services and through the improvement of infrastructures by the capitalization of past projects.

PROJECT’S OBJECTIVES To promote analysis and feasibility studies for the implementation of actions of EUSAIR Pillar 2; To create synergies among EA SEA-WAY, Adrimob, Adriatic MoS projects and their partners and to develop a broader network of main transport actors to strengthen capacities and transfer best practices; To develop exchanges and synergies thanks to tools, best practices and models implemented in EA SEA-WAY, Adrimob, AdriaticMoS; To increase the impact of EA SEA-WAY, Adrimob, AdriaticMoS on regional/national policies in AI area and beyond and guarantee coordination of interventions to overcome bottlenecks and missing links for both passenger and freight transport.

WP3 “Technical Implementation”
main activities (1): Analysis / sharing of outputs to be capitalized and updated / revised, based on the three working groups activities, representing the three capitalized projects; Establishment the chart of an Observatory on passenger transport on Adriatic Ionian area to provide a network to exchange data, information, best practices, solutions and to harmonize procedures among competent authorities/ operators on maritime transport and its integration with hinterland (airports included);

WP3 “Technical Implementation”
main activities (2): Elaboration of feasibility studies on: the integration of ports with hinterland/transport networks for passengers/freight and on the harmonization of services for passengers with special needs in the Port system of AI area; the implementation of MoS corridors structural intervention in the port of Bar and in the port of Split; Analysis of the port of Ploce; Development of methods to overcome the bottlenecks in the AI area;

CAPTAIN and EUSAIR: Supporting the EUSAIR Action Plan implementation, making available to TSG2, subgroup on transport, for capitalising: a set of analysis & database; feasibility studies and methodologies; MoU and agreement on the establishment of a Passenger transport Observatory and its chart, and various MoUs & Agreements.
