2. Definitions and Usage:
in-, il-, im-, OR ir-: not, without; in, into, towards, inside
The impossibility of Dad, my biggest cheerleader, missing my big game told me there was something wrong.
inter-: between, among

intra-: inside, within

4. Extension Activity: Understanding Word Parts and Navigating a Dictionary
Use a dictionary to add one more word for each prefix to your list.
Include each word’s definition and explain where you see the prefix meanings in their definitions.

Choose three words (one for each prefix) and create three separate context clue sentences.
Underline the word you use and context clues you include in each sentence.

Read the poem and use the language choices to create images in your mind. Identify the tone in the poem. List the word connotations you saw within the poem that made you choose that tone. Draw or write a brief summary of what you saw in your head as you read the poem.
