International Early Warning Programme (IEWP)
5 focuses for action (as defined during EWC-II): Integration of early warning into relevant development policies and programmes; Improvement of data collection, facilitating access to relevant data and forecasting; Enhancement of early warning capacities; Development of people-centred warning systems; Sustain the early warning dialogue in the future

IEWP Global Coordination Mechanism
Integrated planning among agencies for development of end-to-end national and regional EWS projects; Global capacity assessment and reporting; Improved knowledge sharing; Advocacy and awareness campaigns on benefits of EWS targeted at ministerial level and promotion of EWS as a climate change adaptation tool; Coordinated resource mobilization.

Link with ISDR System The IEWP will coordinate with ISDR mechanisms:
Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) Regional platforms and consultation processes Co-chairing (2 agencies members of the ISDR System) will rotate with GPDRR ISDR and PPEW Secretariats will facilitate: face-to-face and virtual meetings preparation of documentation advocacy and promotional activities fund raising
