Thoughts Mid Point End Point
We all seem to take part depending on our capacity; our strength comes from people being available during the day to take forward actions. This at times can be frustrating but I can understand that sometimes people are unable to attend meetings due to other commitments. It would be good to take a little more time to go through things and priorities, what needs to be done etc. Loving seeing the process, exciting seeing opportunities arising and being able to speak to the public and hear them being excited is a good feeling Small group is good for making discussions quicker and easier for making decisions The time restrictions had a fair amount of impact – condensing everything into a 3 or 4 month period - meant there wasn’t enough time to properly support the process. However, there is a danger of over structuring and restricting the developmental process - so a balance does need to be struck. There was a good mix of skills across the group and we believe that this experience will be developed further over a period of time Those individuals involved in the steering group increased their confidence and also their skill set. One of the members has applied for a youth work positions and has been invited to attend for interviews. Many of the steering group have become more actively involved with Burnfoot Community Futures and have expressed their interest in joining the local Community Council.
