SCRIPTURE Titus 2:1-10 (KJV) 1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. 9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; 10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

INTRODUCTION On this tenth day of June two thousand and seventeen do we come together for the purpose of remember our Sis. Jannie Mae Shingles. On behalf of the Saints that meet here at 805 S. Fiske Blvd do I extend sincere condolences at the passing of our sister in Christ, mother, grandmother, family, friend, and traveler back from whence we all came. Allow today to serve in part as a reminder that God never intended for us to stay here! My distinct priviledge and honor is to reflect on Sis. Shingles, encourage family and friends, as well as earnestly encourage all that travel this life’s road to prepare for this someday being our reality. Not only do we prepare for death but then comes judgement according to Hebrews 9:27.

THESIS First do we note our example - Jesus Christ as one that both did and taught (Acts 1:1). Prayerfully that’s the desire of one and all even to this day! The text that anchors this discourse finds its origin as afore stated in Titus 2:1-10.It is a stark contrast to the behavior noted in Titus 1:6-16. The continuation of topic finds an unfortunate reality of the that false teachers were advancing doctrines that were at odds with that which was being promoted by Paul and the apostles of that day. Titus is encouraged to speak to young and old, male and female as these damnable doctrines have influenced inappropriate kinds of behaviors and or lifestyles. So much the so that Christians needed spiritual teaching to reinforce the righteous living that God desires for those that are His. Corrected behavior can be the end result of both those who would be obedient then as well as now! Sis. Shingles ADVANCED SOUND DOCTRINE, was SEASONED TO FLAVOR OTHERS, and was PATTERNED TO PROMOTE!
