Welcome Parents To LC 6-1! Parent Information Night Your student has their Student Access Account. Have you started your Parent Access Account this year? Go to Conroeisd homepage and get started!

2 Homework & Planner Comes home daily for your review
Inappropriate behavior written in planner All papers returned to student must be kept until end of the current 9 week grading period. Students should be checking grades weekly on Student Access. Students have been given codes for access.

3 Scope and Sequence Word problem practice ! First Nine Weeks
Fluency with Decimals Multiplying and Dividing Fractions Integers –all operations Word problem practice !

4 Second Nine Weeks Variables and Equivalent Expressions
Equations and Inequalities Two-Variable Relationships Lots of Word Problems !

5 Did I mention…Problem Solving!!
Third Nine Weeks Proportionality Triangles and their Properties Area Volume Measures of Central Tendency and Data Did I mention…Problem Solving!!

6 Fourth Nine Weeks Personal Financial Literacy
STAAR Review (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) test date May 8th 2017 Start expecting practice packets in April higher level of rigor with multiple step word problems testing multiple TEKS in one question

7 Homework 100 % given for completed work.
Student is responsible for turning in work to receive credit. All answers are on my website. Student will receive a 100 for turned in work on homework. A zero will be given for no work shown or less than complete assignment. Written in student planner and on my website daily Always give of time to start homework in class It is the student’s responsibility to check my website when they are absent and turn in any work that was assigned Counts as 1 Daily Grade (40%) each nine weeks. 100 % given for completed work. A 0 is given for work not completed YET.

8 Tests/Projects/Quizzes
TEST – (3 each grading period) Major Test count 60% of the overall grade Accelerated students Envision Project will count in math QUIZ/ DAILY – (9 each grading period) Quizzes count 40% of overall grade Reviews prior to major test will count as a quiz grade Alternating Math Review Quiz(no word problems) and Content Quiz(current material being taught). Advance notice given.

9 Grade will be changed once work is received.
Gradebook Please note… A zero( Z) will be placed in the gradebook for a grade for one of two reasons: Student did not turn in assignment. Student was absent when grade was taken. Grade will be changed once work is received.

10 Your student’s best resource will be their Math ISN.
This course is taught using Conroe ISD curriculum and does not follow a textbook. Pearson Digits is available for our students to use as a textbook resource. User name and password has been assigned to each student. Your student’s best resource will be their Math ISN. (Interactive Student Notebook)
