Change color to tell you a molecule is present INDICATORS- Starch + iodine = BLACK COLOR

4 Cut 3 Potato cells of different sizes
Place ALL “cells” into iodine AT SAME TIME. Cover with lid Let them sit overnight

5 WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

7 Remove "potato cells" from iodine
Place on table Cut in half Measure the width of the white square in the middle of the cube

8 Calculate the volume where iodine diffused
BIG OUTSIDE CUBE= TOTAL VOLUME LITTLE INSIDE CUBE= Volume diffusion didn’t reach BIG OUTSIDE CUBE – LITTLE INSIDE CUBE = VOLUME REACHED BY DIFFUSION

9 2 sides are: 1 X 1 4 sides are: 1 X 8 X 2 X 4
