Introduction The Resilience Innovation Hub (The Hub) is seeking to leverage the power of digital platforms to widen its reach, promote efficiency in tasks directly affected with the introduction of an Interactive website and to further its agenda across the internet. This move will see The EARIH increase its digital footprint and reach across the region and beyond. Together with the development of a digital platform, EARIH will be able leverage the power of social media in interacting with it’s audience and getting feedback direct from them in Real Time. Technical Information The design objectives of the proposed Web Development for the East African Resilience Innovation Hub is to: Make EARIHs Research and Development easily available and accessible to the sites visitors. Make the site user friendly for its core audience. Make it easy for the users to navigate to every section of the site. Have an aesthetically appealing design that will keep the users engaged and satisfied in the user experience. Make the content easy to update from the back end to achieve the desired objectives. Index the content with Search Engine Optimization to enable ease of data retrieval using third party Search Engines. The website design will adapt a clean, crisp and modern look with well-arranged and clearly marked sections that will facilitate easy website navigation for both new and returning users. The design will also incorporate links to EARIHs official social media platforms e.g. facebook, twitter, Google plus. The activities involved in the design of the website will include: Sourcing for graphical images: This activity will involve taking of professional quality images that will be used on the websites slideshow. These images will aide in painting a picture of EARIHs programmes and engagements at a glance to the websites’ visitors. These images will also contribute in enhancing the aesthetics of the website. Editing images: This will involve compressing the sourced images and optimizing them so as to make them lighter and enable them to load faster on the website. This will ensure a more pleasant user experience by loading high resolution images at comfortable speeds.

4 Template Design: This activity will involve arranging the websites content guided by an approved mockup and wireframe into HTML to allow it to be accessed through a web browser. At this point the responsive nature of the website will also be designed to allow the website to be adapt to any device screen. Slideshow Presentation: This activity involves arranging the sourced images into a slideshow that will be accompanied by relevant descriptions to aide in highlighting EARIHs programs and engagements. The slideshow will also possess a responsive nature; this will allow it to adapt to different device viewpoints. Page Design: This activity entails designing the subsequent pages that will be navigated to from the landing page. Content Formatting: This activity will involve placing content provided and approved by EARIH into the designed web pages while arranging it into the relevant sub categories.
