Ron Gager Since 1987, Ron has led Gager & Associates, a Boulder, Colorado consulting group specializing in organizational improvement, quality process implementation, and project management. Among other assignments, he has served as Manager of Organizational Effectiveness for Xerox Information Products Division, Director of Organizational Development for Stearns-Roger, an engineering & construction arm of Air Products & Chemicals, and as Program Director for the Colorado Outward Bound School. At Xerox, Ron was a key member of the corporate task force which designed and implemented the "Leadership Through Quality" process which led to the coveted Baldrige Award. As Program Director for Outward Bound, Ron pioneered the establishment of an adventure-based management training approach to develop leadership skills in managers and work teams. His programs were featured in the Wall Street Journal and on the TODAY Show. In the field of project management, he is the developer of TpPS© (Team Project Planning System), an integrated approach to team development and project planning used by many engineering & construction teams. Ron was one of the original team of consultants that helped design and implement GE’s fabled “WorkOut” process and is a long-standing Faculty Member at GE's Leadership Development Institute, where he also served as a member of the design team for the Change Acceleration Process, aimed at helping GE's officers, senior executives, and line managers, lead and accelerate change within their businesses. As part of GE’s effort to share its “change toolkit” with customers & suppliers, Ron has been asked on numerous occasions to assist executive teams from GE’s customer/supplier base, including work at J.P. Morgan, General Mills, E&J Gallo Winery, The Walt Disney Company, Entergy, and The U.S. Customs Service. In January of 2000, Ron joined a team of senior consultants working closely with Rick Wagoner, GM’s newly appointed CEO, to design and launch “GoFast!”, GM’s world-wide initiative to create a new culture based on a passion for speed and a sense of urgency. In 2003, Ron joined a team of consultants working with Telstra, the Australian telephone company to implement Six Sigma, a rigorous approach to improving productivity and meeting customer needs; in 2004 he led two of the major “streams of work” for this project. He learned to drive on the “wrong” side of the road and can say “G’day Mate!”, “Cheers,” “No Worries,” and “How ya goin?” with the best of them. Ron received his Master's Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and his B.S. from Central Michigan University. He is past Chair of the Board for Friends’ School in Boulder, and has just retired as Chair of the Board for E-town, a radio show aimed at building community through music and conversation, heard on over 160 stations nationwide. He is currently spearheading the creation of a world-class Junior Development Cycling Program for Boulder County, and is the new Co-owner of The Fix and RhythmCycles.com, a bike shop and web site for the aggressive mountain biker.
