Where is Calderdale? Set in the foothills of the Pennines. It is the smallest of the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Authorities and where the river Calder flows through a majority of its towns. It is bordered by the Yorkshire towns of Bradford/Huddersfield and the Lancashire towns of Burnley, Oldham and Rochdale.

Hebden Bridge quirky, cool and creative
Nestling in the Pennine Hills, Hebden Bridge in 2005, Hebden Bridge was voted the fourth funkiest town by British Airways it is an extremely popular tourist attraction to the area of Calderdale and a hotbed of creative businesses.

Established 2012 and consists of members from Town Council Hebden Bridge Partnership Hebden Bridge Business Association Hebden Bridge Arts Group Hebden Bridge Round Table Hebden Bridge Lions Handmade Parade Calderdale Councillors Calderdale MBC Officers from Markets, Tourism, Business and Economy Its aims are to review and constantly improve Hebden Bridge as a destination within the town that celebrates the community.

Flooding Over a three week period in June 2012 where a month of rain fell in one day. The level of the river calder rose by over 12ft causing devastating affects to the town and its 5,000+ population

Flooding Christmas 2015 Swept through the entire Calder Valley with devastating affects to Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Elland, Sowerby Bridge and Brighouse.

How Markets were used Market relaunched 6 January
Community immediately started tweeting how the market was bringing life back to the town. Providing a much needed outlet for staple products due to other independent traders unable to trade. Saturday Market introduced 9 January for all displaced businesses for 3 months free of charge. 20 businesses ceased the opportunity to showcase their shops prior to re-opening. Sunday Market introduced for 3 months for local producers New business start-up scheme introduced Alternative Christmas planning commenced to include a Christmas Market.
