Hungarian Interchurch Aid was founded in 1991 with the mission to provide assistance for those in need or in crisis through the power of unity. Our main objective is to facilitate the integration of families seeking a way out of poverty. We help people irrespective of their gender, nationality or religious belief. Through social institutions and services: 5 temporary family shelters 2 centers for early development of children – „safe start children’s houses” Learning center for children (afterschool education) Through projects: - „handrail” programme – child development programme

Development and care services for children between 0-5 years and their parents Improvement of parental skills Support of the attachment between parents and children Physiotherapy Skills development Monitoring and evaluation of development Community- building activities

8 Kastélyosdombó model National program to promote social reintegration of vulnerable groups based on HIA’s Kastélyosdombó model Main activites: Improvement of labour market skills of parents living in temporary family shelters Child development services Mentoring service for families who can leave the TFS Purchase of halfway home houses Empowerment of families, start of independent life Cupon system for building motivation
