1 Twitter Overview of today’s presentation: how to tweet
understand the tweet terminology find who responded to your tweet

2 When Tweeting To create a tweet click the blue icon, top right.
Then tweet whatever it is you want to tweet about.

3 Connect is where you can see who’s talking about you as well as who’s interacting with you or your Tweets. The tab offers two views, “Interactions” and “Mentions.” Interactions, you can view conversations and Retweets, who’s now following you, who favorited your Tweets, who added you to a list, etc. Mentions is just that…Tweets mentioning name.

4 Hashtags You can insert as many Hashtags as you want, just make sure not to over do it. Use 3 Hashtags at max, Hashtags are used to filter a large amount of people into a specific page that you created related to the Hashtag. When clicking a Hashtag link, you will be taken to a main page filled with other tweets from different users, who tweeted with the same Hashtag.

5 Responses After another user has decided to Favorite, or Retweet one of your post, you will be able to see how many users have done this when on your main home page and clicking the tweet you wish to see responses for. A drop down screen will open showing you how many people have Favorited or Retweeted your post. You can click either one to see which person/user did this and a list of all the names will appear.

6 Including a Link.. Whenever you post a link through Twitter, 1 of 2 things will happen, depending on what you are linking to. A normal website link, for example espn.com will show up as a hyperlink within your tweet and once clicked will take you to that page. Second, if you post a link to an image or video within your tweet, a thumbnail version of your image will be readily available to see when someone looks at your tweet.

7 Searches In the top right search bar, you can search anything from hashtags, to client accounts. The search bar allows you to directly find a page filled with subject related material.

8 Don’ts For Twitter Sweepstakes
Don’t allow creation of multiple accounts for those who are participating. Don’t repeatedly post the tweet!

9 Do’s For Twitter Sweepstakes
Ask users to include to you in their update so you can see all the entries. Encourage the use of topics relevant to the contest – get hashtags involved.
