John’s Life He was born on September 18, 1963 in Britian
He grew up playing the violin until he was thirteen, he then went more into rock and roll and started the band, the Fabulistics Went to London’s Trinity college of Music and studied composition. There he joined an art group, Media Arts, with his friend, Gavin Greenway. They composed pieces for conceptual performaces at the school. He graduated in 1986

After he graduated, he and Gavin left the Media Arts group and composed media installments with Michael Petry. 1988 he got a job composing for commercial at London’s Air-Edel Music. There he worked with Hans Zimmer and became an assistant to Patrick Doyle. He left Air-Edel Music and co-founded (with Gavin Greenway), the London-based commercial music house called Independently Thinking Music. Together they made over a hundred pieces for British and French commercials and independent films.

In 1997 he moved to Los Angles, California John made a score for the movie “Face/Off” with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. It was that score that put him on the charts in the composer world. He got the ASCAP award for his score in “Face/Off” in 1998. Right now he lives with his wife, young son, five cats and dog. He is planned to compose scores for “Guardians of Childhood”, “Boyhood”, and “How to Train Your Dragon 2”.
