Why was she famous? Jackie Joyner-Kersee was a track and field Olympias. She was the first woman to have 7,000 points in the heptathlon and the first American to win a gold metal for the long jump. Jackie hold the world record for the heptathlon at 7,291 points. Jackie went to the Olympics in 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996.

Jackie Joyner-Kersee’s Life
Born on March 3, 1962 in East St. Louis Missouri 1980 she qualified for the Olympic long jump In 1986 Jackie and her track coach Bob Kersee got married. 1995 Jackie was voted the Greatest female athlete of all time She attended the University of California at Las Angeles where she was in track and felid and basketball February 21, 1998 she was announced one of the 15 greatest players in UCLA Woman's Basketball Jackie was voted “Top Woman Collegiate Athlete of the Past 25 Years” in April 2001

Personal Opinion Jackie Joyner was an amazing person because it takes a lot of perseverance, strength, persistence to win Olympic metals. I think she seems like a good person because of what she does with the children's group she founded.
