The Rainforests of the World

What is a rain forest? A rain forest covers of 6% of the world.
It filters 1/3 of the ocean water. Half of the world’s animals live there.

Locations of the Rain Forest
All the rain forests are near the equator. Brazil has the biggest rain forest in the world. 5 of the continents have rainforest

Emergent Layer This layer is at the top of the rainforest.
The Emergent layer has many birds such as Parrots and Harpy Eagles. Blue parrots kissing

Canopy layer There are many animals in the canopy like the Green Iguana, Spider Monkey, Bees, Three-toed Sloth, and Jaguar.

Understory Layer The under story has different kinds of plants like Rosy periwinkle and the Bromeliad. Here are four of the animals that live in Understory: Layer Red-eyed tree frogs, Spiders, Emerald tree boas, and Army Ants.

Forest Floor Here are six of the animals that live in the Forest Floor insects, Army Ants, Tapir, Giant Earthworm, Giant Armadillo, and the Milk snake.

Deforestation Four reasons rainforests are endangered are because of cattle grazing, products, mining, and building of cities and roads.

People of the Rain Forest
Three Indian tribes are Yanomami, Ashaninka, and the Pygmy. They eat their meat raw.

Ways to Save the Rainforest
Try not to buy Rainforest items so the Rainforest can stay longer on Earth.
