DC56 Review at CERN, November 14th, 2012
Summary o The project aims to develop and construct two large area drift chambers for the COMPASS large angle tracking spectrometer (LAT) o A group of institutions with the necessary expertise for the DC56 project has been formed: IPAS, ACU, CERN, Freiburg, Saclay, Torino, UIUC o Using the DC4 drift chamber technology developed at Saclay eliminates technical risks and will make it possible to progress fast. o Utilize capabilities of wire chamber labs at FNAL, Saclay and UIUC. o Rely on existing electronics know-how in COMPASS (Freiburg & Torino) and on engineering expertise at IPAS.
