waste generally Waste disposal is the generic term for all procedures and activities that serve the disposal or recovery of waste. Waste disposal means the release into the environment in compliance with prescribed limits (usually in liquid and gaseous wastes, optionally after chemical conversion or dillution) or the transfer to a repository (usually in solid waste, if appropriate after prior conditioning and packaging). For the disposal of waste landfills are needed or other appropriate repository places, such as former mines or salt domes.

Waste recycling refers to reuse, recycling or energy recovery of waste or part of it. If the waste is used to fill the voids and thus in principle for the prevention of mining damage is, the underground movement can be viewed as a form of exploitation. The disposal of waste is one of the biggest environmental problems of the 21st century, particularly due to the large amounts of waste.
