What should we pack? 4 changes of old clothes (practical – think about the activities that they will be completing) 1 indoor set of clothes 2 sets of old trainers ideally and/or wellies. No crocs for activities, they slip off and are a safety hazard. They can be used for the indoor shoes in the evening though. For the mud assault course advice is a set of VERY old clothes and shoes that can then be thrown away apparently the mud is hard to shift! Swimming costume/trunks/towel Small rucksack Coat Suncream Hat If you have lightweight waterproof trousers/jacket Sleeping bag Pillow/torch Camera – not expensive! Could be dropped!! Washing bag – toothbrush, shower bits, TOWEL A few bin bags – to put dirty clothes into Night clothes All clothes MUST be labelled clearly with the child’s name and a packing list included so the children can check the items back into their bags

What footwear do we need?
2 sets of old trainers ideally and/or wellies. No crocs for activities, they slip off and are a safety hazard. They can be used for the indoor shoes in the evening though. They do not require any ‘party shoes’ on this occasion! Cheap plimsoll daps are ideal for binning and inexpensive

Money and food There will be opportunities to buy souvenirs.
Maximum of £20 in a named wallet/purse/envelope This is to be given to Mr Anley on the morning of departure The children are well fed with food produced on site. They require a packed lunch on the day that we depart, it is also reassuring for them to have this with them and know that it is food that they have chosen themselves. If your child wishes to bring snacks we suggest no more than two – in small named plastic bags in their suitcase. NO SWEETS. These will be taken in and then given out so that there is no excessive midnight snacking which could make your child unwell. Nothing please that requires refrigeration.
5
What about games and activities?
No electronics toys please but they can bring a reading book, colouring, small games, deck of cards. There is very little opportunity to use these but they are then there is they wish. The children are responsible for their items whilst they are there. Some children like to bring their favourite teddy/soft toy, provided it is not too big!

What happens if I need to contact my child?
Telephone calls Mobile phones are NOT allowed on the trip. We discourage parents phoning their children, and vice versa. In our experience it only makes it harder for the children in question to adjust to the new surroundings. Teachers will have mobile phones with them and, in special cases, it is always possible to contact us via the centre’s main office. You will be given contact details closer to the visit or the school and Mrs Tremlin will contact us. We will also attempt to make contact with the school every day with news and information on how the trip is going, which will go on the website. However the phone reception is poor, likewise internet so it could just be an update sent by parentmail. We will take lots of pictures to share post event School mobile phone
