How do they recruit for the job?
You find an internship with teaching hospital. And once you finish interning you start your fellowship. And after that you become a resident and could spend that time refining your specialty
3
How do they pick the best candidate?
There are many different types of surgeons. Depending on what staff they need, the job will accept you if you fit the correct criteria for that certain surgeon job.
4
How well do they pay employees?
Pay by Region. General surgeons practicing in the Great Lakes region reported the highest average salary in 2011, $297,000. Those practicing in California and Hawaii earned a close second, averaging $295,000, and those in the Southwestern states earned a relatively high average salary of $285,000 per year.
5
What does a sample day look like?
Surgeons basically wait until there is an injured client or somebody who needs surgery. Other people clean the room and make sure all the utensils to perform surgery are clean and disinfected.
6
Safety in the work place
You have people that keep the OR clean, people to prep the patient, doctors have to "scrub in" which basically they have to put on appropriate surgical attire and scrub their hands. Basically, be as clean as possible so the patient doesn't die of infection post op.
7
How do they fire employees?
If you aren't doing their job right and your killing more people than saving them, they will fire you.
