Christmas Concert in evening Please make sure to check both sides of this newsletter every weekend. HALLOWEEN PARTY PLANNERS Needed: The Halloween party will be on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 1:14-2:45. If you would like to plan party games, make goodie bags, and/or food-drink for the party, please write a note in the Lark notebook to let your child’s teacher know. Each second grade will have their own party. Thank you to Gretchen Eickhoff, Candice Naatz, and Chelsey Ness for volunteering for Mrs. Goergen’s class party. Thank you to Brooke McAlpine and Dorothy Denison for helping with Mrs. Hanken’s class. Reminder: We do not dress up in our costume for our party day. 2 Food shelf suggestion: Mac and Cheese & Pasta Library – Mrs. H. 31 Food shelf suggestion: Canned corn, beans, peas, diced tomatoes, etc. Hearing Test in am Halloween 1:15 1 Food shelf suggestion: Canned tuna, canned chicken, nuts, canned chili, etc. June B. GM Grade 2 Newsletter Spelling Words Search Spelling City for Long i, silent e fine wipe swipe ride ripe bike wide life while file time hide dime side Mine 2nd Grade Information Happy Birthday to Charlotte Fuller-Winkels on Saturday, Oct. 28! TENNIS SHOES: If students are wearing boots to school in the morning, don’t forget to bring a pair of shoes for gym class. Vision and Hearing Checks will be on Tuesday morning. Second graders will only get their hearing checked. Grades 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 will get their vision and hearing checked. HALLOWEEN PARTY MONEY: Please send in $8 to help pay for 3 class parties throughout the school year (Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines’)…$2 for each party, and $2 for the auction item and carnival baskets we make. It is always something wonderful. FOOD SHELF – The elementary and high school student councils are collecting food for the GM food shelf through Thursday, Nov. 2. Thank you to those who have already donated! See the calendar on the other side for suggestions of food to bring, but any non-perishable food is acceptable. Please check the dates on your donations. Thank you! RCTC THEATRE PERMISSION FORMS: Thank you to those who have turned in their permission form and money to the Junie B. Jones play on Wednesday. If you have not turned in your permission form and money, please do so before Wednesday. GMEF SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION: November 18th at Crazy Janes. The GM Second Graders will be donating a canvas picture which include our feet and a cute verse. WINTER CLOTHING IS NEEDED: When snow is on the ground, students are asked to wear snow pants and boots for recess. Even if there is not snow on the ground, snow pants and boots are nice for warmth. Don’t forget the warm jacket, hat, gloves, and possibly a scarf to keep the cold air from going down our jackets. If second graders would like to keep a pair of boots and snow pants at home and another pair at school… they may. GOOD LUCK to the GM Volleyball team! They will be playing at Mayo Civic Center on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1:00 pm against Hayfield. GOOD LUCK to the GM Football team! They will be playing at Spring Grove on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 pm against Spring Grove.
