1 Redundancy Switching Components
Type 5586 Redundancy Controller Module Combined Waveguide/N Switch OR Rx Waveguide Switch + Tx Waveguide Switch Optional indoor 1-RU System Monitor (5587) Optional 5570D Remote Controller The 5586 Redundancy Controller is an outdoor mounted module which is usually mounted on the antenna base. The 5586 always switches transmit and receive paths together. The 5586 controls the RF switch(es), IF paths and control signals between the 5586 and Transceiver modules. The RF switch(es) control both the transmit and receive RF paths. The two types of RF switching offered are two waveguide RF switches, one for transmit and the other for receive or a combined waveguide/N switch, the waveguide for receive and the coaxial N type switch for transmit. The 5587 Indoor Redundant System Monitor Unit duplicates all the controls and indicators of the 5586 allowing indoor monitoring of fault status and control of the Regardless of whether the 5586 is set to automatic or manual switching the 5587 can be used to force a switch over. For individual fault monitoring and control of the transceivers an optional 2RU 5570D is available. The 5570D is connected directly to the Redundancy Monitor 5587.

2 Low Power Redundancy The 5W, 10W, 20W, 30W and 40W transceiver can be either mounted on the antenna boom or the antenna pedestal. Standard mounting kit supplied is designed to be mounted on the antenna boom The 5586 Redundancy Controller and the two 5582 Mains Power Supplies are mounted on the antenna pedestal

3 High Power Redundancy The 60W or 120W mounting hardware is designed to be mounted to the antenna pedestal with the 5586 Redundancy Controller

4 5587 Redundancy Monitor Duplication of the 5586 Redundancy Controller internal switches and LED indicators. 1RU high assembly Provides summary alarm for each stream and RF switches Allows forced switch over between streams Power is supplied from the Redundancy Controller through the interface cable up to 100m. The controls and indicators of the redundancy controller are duplicated on the front panel of the redundancy system monitor, which is used for remote applications. The redundancy system monitor provides this capability via the monitor and control interface of the redundancy controller. The 5587 redundancy monitor is supplied with a 50m cable although longer lengths are available.

5 Dual 5570 Remote Controller
Full function, permanently-installed, configuration, monitor & control and maintenance. 2RU high may be “piggy-backed” to the 5587 C-Series Indoor Monitor. Power is supplied from the Redundancy Controller through the interface cable. The Dual Remote Controller, 5570D, is a space saving 2RU version of the 5570 Remote Controller. It is designed to interface with the 5587 C-Series Redundant System Monitor via two 50cm cables avoiding the need for additional M&C cables running out to the 5586 Redundancy Controller. The 5570D is powered via DC from the 5586, via the If the 5587 is being used with an long M&C cable, over 100m, an external DC plug pack is required to power the 5587, which in turn powers the 5570D.
