5 Requirements for Year 2 LCAP Sections:
Plan Summary - Mark Year 2, and replace the current summary information with information relevant to the current year LCAP. Annual Update - Copy the Goals, outcomes, actions/services and budgeted expenditures verbatim from Year 1 of the current LCAP ( ) into the “Expected” column of the Annual Update, replacing what is currently there. Respond on the right side with new “Actuals”, replacing what is already there. Respond in the “Analysis” section based on the new Actuals, replacing what is currently there. N 15 min – presentation; 5 min discussion

6 Requirements for Year 2 LCAP Sections:
Stakeholder Engagement - Mark Year 2, and replace the current stakeholder narrative with a description of the process being used this year for the LCAP (Year 2). Goals, Actions and Services- For the most part the Goals, Priorities, Identified Need, Expected Annual Measurable Outcomes and Actions/Services will not change. To change a goal or action/service - check “Modified”, if you are deleting it, leave Year 1 as is, check “Modified” and leave the Year 2 box blank. To add a new action/service, add a new set of boxes, leave Year 1 blank and start with Year 2. N 15 min – presentation; 5 min discussion

7 Requirements for Year 2 LCAP Sections:
Demonstration of Increased or Improved Services - Leave the Year 1 Table intact. Copy the table format and paste it above the Year 1 table. Mark this new table as and complete as required. Retain the prior year table for this section of the LCAP for each of the three years within the LCAP. N 15 min – presentation; 5 min discussion

8 Annual Update and Progress Monitoring
The Annual Update can be a powerful tool for informing the continuous improvement process. Through the Annual Update a district can monitor the effectiveness of actions/services in the LCAP, in order to inform decisions about those actions/services in the coming year. Questions to Ask: How do we know that an action or service is making a positive difference in advancing student success? What interim measures are available (benchmark assessments, weekly or monthly data pulls) to provide preliminary information? What information is being used to determine progress toward goals, for all students and student groups? Are the actions/services addressing the needs of the unduplicated student groups? How do you know? Is there relevant stakeholder feedback? N 20 presentation; 10 min discussion

Remember! The Dashboard shows performance on multiple measures that contribute to a quality education for students. This provides a more complete picture of how schools are meeting the needs of the students they serve. S – 25 min presentation; 10 min discussion

Local Indicators Local Indicators must be shared at a regularly scheduled Board Meeting, and then uploaded to the Dashboard by December 1, 2017. Any indicators that are not completed by the district will be displayed as “Not Met”. S – 25 min presentation; 10 min discussion

Key Considerations: Know who and what is included in the indicators Who’s the intended audience? What other data/information can support the narrative? Use all the resources available, (e.g. research files) What do you do if there are gaps in the data (e.g. small student groups, no info) S – 25 min presentation; 10 min discussion

ESSA/ESEA A subset of the state indicators to determine lowest 5% Title 1 schools Begin Fall 2018 State Accountability LCFF legislation State Indicators displayed on Dashboard All districts Begin Fall 2017 California’s ESSA State Plan will be approved by the SBE next week and then submitted to the USDE. We will have more specific information once the state plan is approved.

24 Technical (Differentiated) Assistance
An LEA is eligible for technical assistance if one student group meets the criteria above in two or more LCFF state priority areas. Pupil Achievement (Priority 4) ● Red on both English Language Arts and Math tests OR ● Red on English Language Arts or Math test AND Orange on the other test OR ● Red in the English Learner Progress Indicator Pupil Engagement (Priority 5) ● Red on Graduation Rate Indicator OR ● Red on Chronic Absence Indicator School Climate (Priority 6) ● Red on Suspension Rate Indicator OR ● Not Met for Two or More Years on Local Performance Indicator For Fall Dashboard release only Does not apply to charters yet
