EDMS = An Engineering data management service Management of documents (notes, reports, specifications…) A web accessible system structured in an organized way. 8 EDMS – NA62 For NA62 I have READ access only at the top level.
I cannot create nor initiate an approval process. An EDMS administrator is needed and should be contacted if you need to add documents to EDMS and/or initiate an approval process. 5/15/2009 CDD/EDMS/etc - CERN/PH/DT/PO-MH

After completing the questions on the title of the document, etc this message appears showing that the document number was created BUT at this stage NO documents have been loaded. EDMS/CDD Enable the following: Loading, storing, visualizing, revising, archiving of drawings A system of comments/approval for drawings Web accessible from everywhere Transparent – you can see other peoples comments Need to be careful with the restriction of approval lists – only a few people are really interested in a given drawing usually. 5/15/2009 CDD/EDMS/etc - CERN/PH/DT/PO-MH

The Tools (EDMS, CDD, CATIA, Smarteam are SUPPORTED by CERN. Smarteam Latest tool at CERN. Similar to EDMS but does not replace EDMS. Used mainly to store CATIA models and drawings produced inside CERN (unlike EDMS & CDD where documents can be loaded outside CERN. More complicated than EDMS. FUTURE CDD Drawings will continue to be loaded for comments/approval lifecycle EDMS For TECHNICAL documents, not replaced by Smarteam. For loading and storage of CATIA 3D models by CAD designers.
