Components Cleaning Wipe with acetone (ultrasonic with ethanol)
Ultrasonic with 2% Liquinox at 50 C for 20 min Rinse with UPW at RT Ultrasonic with UPW at RT for 10 min Rinse with UPW (or ethanol) at RT Dry in Class 10 Blow-off to Class 10 (except long bellows for vacuum pumping and purging)
3
Coupler Cold Part Assembly
4
All-Metal Gate Valve and Angle Valve
Wipe, blow to clean, half-open, blow to clean, keep open during assembly
5
Gate Valve Assembly Wrong assembly of the gate valve seat side.
This side should face the cavity Leak rate will be higher. Cleanness OK. Allowable differential pressure 2 bar in either direction.
6
HOM Feed through and Field Pickup
Thermal shock and leak check BCP the Nb tip (1:1:1, 1 min), rinse Ultrasonic with ethanol 20 min Blow in liquid N2 (10 min) vacuum bake (110 C, 6 hrs)
7
Gaskets WEPEK AlMg gasket NW78, NW8: beam pipe, HOM&FP
wipe with acetone (black stain) and blow U-tight Sn-plated helico-flex gasket 15037: FPC wipe with ethanol and blow CF35,16 OFC Any scratch, discard Al gaskets provided by a Chinese vendor used for ADS spoke cavity. Leak-tight in RT, leak in LHe. Add torque, then leak tight (loose after cooling down/thermal shock).
8
Fasteners Stud 316L SS Rolled, Electro Polished; Hex Nut - Silicon Bronze (Kuprodur) Ultrasonic with warm Liquinox, dry, blow clean to ~100 (> 0.5 um) During (warm) ultrasonic cleaning, Al complements never touch to each other and other material; avoid Al. No Micro-90 for Cu, Al, Mg and Zn.
9
Particle Free Flange Assembly
