What a terrific first week! All of our third graders did a great job learning how to switch classes and keep track of their materials! We are enjoying getting to know you all and we believe it will be an amazing year!

A Peek At What We Are Learning
Reading
We will be learning how to choose just right books and how to set reading goals to become better readers.
Writing
This week we are focusing on the planning stage of writing, so we will brainstorm lots of ideas of things to write about, and plan ways we can write about them.
Math
We will learn how to compose and decompose numbers as we understand place value relationships.
Science
We will be reviewing safety practices in the science lab. We will also be learning the name of science tools.
Social
Studies
We will learn about civic responsibility and historic examples of good citizens, like Ruby Bridges and Helen Keller.
Spelling Words
This week we are reviewing sight words!
