Present simple of be: am, is, are Use the present simple of be: with AGE – Carlos is fifteen /I’m fourteen with an ADJECTIVE – You’re right /It’s easy with THIS and THAT – This is my bike/ That is Helen’s house. with NATIONALITY – They are Turkish with JOBS – Jim is a dentist.

We use DO with I, you, we and they when we make questions in the present simple. We use DOES with he, she, it. We put DO or DOES before the pronoun. Do you walk to school or do you take the bus? Does Ana play basketball? Does Harry often arrive late? Do they speak Italian? Do you live in Australia?

We often use the present simple with these frequency adverbs:

The frequency adverb goes before all verbs except verb to be: Monday always comes after Sunday Maria is always late. Maria always arrive late.

17 PRESENT SIMPLE time phrases
We can use other time phrases to say HOW OFTEN something happens. On Mondays he goes to the chess class. I have dance lessons every week. Time phrases can come at the beginning or at the end of the sentence.
