1 The simple future and Future Continuous Tense
Be Going To Be going to + verb often expresses specific future plans or intentions. It is common in conversation and often sounds like “gonna” or “gunna”. Time expressions such as these often appear with be going to. ▪later ▪after (in) a while ▪tomorrow ▪next Friday ▪this afternoon (evening, weekend, etc.) ▪next Friday (week, month, etc.) M. A. Adam

He ‘s going to help me with my work. ●Future Intentions: e.g.: I’m going to take math this semester. He’s going to major in chemistry. We aren’t going to move tomorrow. We’re going to move on Saturday. M. A. Adam

●Long forms: Affirmative. ▪ I am going to study tonight. ▪ He is going to study tonight. ▪ They are going to leave soon. ●Negative. ▪ I am not going to study tonight. ▪ He is not going to study tonight. ▪They are not going to leave soon. M. A. Adam

The simple future tense expresses future intentions. In some cases , will and be going to are interchangeable. Will is used to express offers , predictions, promises, and requests. Time expressions such as…. ▪ tomorrow ▪ from now on ▪ in the future ▪ next Friday (week, month .. etc…) M. A. Adam

10 The future continuous tense.
The future continuous normally describes actions that will be in progress in the future. The following expressions are used in the future continuous . ▪ at (by) 3:00 (noon, midnight, etc.) ▪ the day after tomorrow ▪ at (by) this time tomorrow.

Actions in progress in the future: Examples: At this time tomorrow, I’ll be taking a test. Will you be taking a test, too? A week from today , we’ll be flying home. M. A. Adam

Affirmative statements. I will be studying all week end. It will be working by noon. We will be taking the exam on Monday. Negative statements. I will not be studying at week end. It won’t be working by noon. We will not be taking the exam on Monday. M. A. Adam
