4 Survivor: Broom’s Classes
Each child received an orange brochure at the start of school. This can also be also be viewed on my website.

5 Behavior Color System The color system is a school wide behavior system. Orange = Excellent Day (student exceeded teacher expectations) Green = Great day (student did not move their clip for any reason) Yellow = Good day (Student was asked to move their clip 1) Red = Improvement is needed = (Student was asked to move their clip 2 times) Punishment = no recess or activity depending on when the student was asked to move their clip Blue – Immediate improvement is needed = (Student was asked to move their clip 3 times) Punishment = same as Red plus the student will be sent to the office

6 Study Guides (Broom’s Classes)
Study guides may be sent home during the school year. If a study guide is sent home, the student is to complete it at home and return it on the day it is due. As a class, the study guide will be reviewed for accuracy. Any student that has a study guide signed by a parent, on the day of the test, will receive extra point on that particular test.

7 Signed Papers / Signed Paper Folders
Each child has a signed paper folder. This folder only goes home each Tuesday. Both sets of signed papers should be signed and returned as soon as possible. Anything on the “Keep at home” side of the folder should be taken out at home and kept at home.

8 AR (Accelerated Reader)
AR goals are set at the start of each 9 WKS. Each child has an AR folder. Each folder has their book level written on the outside cover. The students are responsible for writing their book title, score on quiz taken, points earned, and getting a teacher signature. AR parties will be will be school wide. This will be based on goal completion as well as their test average.

9 AM (Accelerated Math) AM should be kept in the students green AM folder. (located in their binder) AM should not be in their homework folder for any reason. When students complete an assignment, the student keys in their answers on a responder at school. Once their answers have been keyed in, their TOPS report prints. Students staple their TOPS report to the assignment they have just completed and file it in the appropriate location.

10 AM (Accelerated Math) Filed AM will go home each Tuesday for you to keep and review with your child. Any mistakes (miss keyed an answer) can be fixed. Write a note on the assignment and return it to school to be fixed. AM is not put in the grade book until the end of each 9 WKS. Your child’s final Test Average as well as your child’s % to goal will go in the grade book at that time. Each child’s Test Average and % to goal will change throughout the 9 WKS. You can keep up with this information on your child’s signed paper cover sheet or on our school’s website through the Home Connect link.

11 AM (Accelerated Math) Student keep track of their points on a bar graph in the classroom. They can also keep up with their point on a chart in their binder. Practices and Exercises do not give the students points. Only Test and Diagnostic Test give the students points. Practice and Exercises can be completed at home, however it is not required. Test and Diagnostic Test should be completed at school since they do count toward their Math grade. AM Parties will be set at the end of each 9 WKS based on their test average and if they have mat their goal of 30pts

12 Textbooks: Reading and Language books must be brought back and forth to school. There are no math text books. We will be using workbooks like they used in second grade. The larger one will stay at school, while the smaller one will go back and forth to school. This will be used for homework. Science and Social Studies books will not be issued. There are not enough text books to issue each child a book. Sometimes we may use a yellow math in class. This book should never be taken home by any student. This book is used in class only. If your child accidentally takes this book home, please return it to school the next day.

13 Folders and Binders Homework folder = Blue AR folder
