Strategies for Building the Middle School Brain
Revise. Students must be taught the skills they need to learn the information.
Reflexes. Movement gets blood and oxygen flowing in the brain.
Reteach. Varying teaching methods during the reteaching will help different kinds of brains learn.
Review. This is the most important strategy. It is not how long a student studies, but how many times the synapse pattern is accessed. Therefore, a long review at the end of class is not as powerful as a number of shorter reviews during class.
