2. The law has several functions within any established society.
Initially it was to keep the peace, but as society evolved and became more complex, the law took on additional functions.

10. The judicial system is responsible for interpreting the various laws and then deciding whether these laws have been broken. If such is the case, it is the court’s job to decide what penalties are to be given to the persons who break the rules.
