EXAMPLE: In 3 + a = 15, “a” is the variable.

CONSTANTS Numbers, or quantities, that do not change
EXAMPLE: In 4 + b, “4” is a constant

COEFFICIENT A number that multiplies a variable

LIKE TERMS Terms that have the same variables with the same exponents
