The Goals of the Community Service Committee: To encourage families, strengthen communities, build a better world. To foster interaction between the Rotary Club and the surrounding communities.

7 LifeWire’s Housing Services
Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness among women and children in the nation.

8 Lack of affordable housing and long waiting lists for assisted housing mean that many domestic violence victims face an impossible choice; remain in an abusive situation or leave and face homelessness for themselves and their children.

9 My Sister’s Home 10 individual apartment units providing emergency housing and supportive services for families living in lethal situations. All families are homeless, fleeing domestic violence and 86% have low or no income. My Sister’s home accommodates the hardest to serve: survivors with large families, families with teenage boys, immigrant and non-English speaking families and families that other shelters can’t accommodate. If a survivor and their family is not able to secure safe and stable housing, 60% will return to their abuser and 38% will become homeless. In 2016, LifeWire served 256 survivors with children in our shelters.

10 Our services are successful!
LifeWire provides life-changing programs and supportive services – Advocacy, Legal Assistance, Counseling, Housing Stability Services, Education and Prevention. Over 91% of LifeWire’s participants that have used our Housing Services continue to maintain permanent housing. Survivors and their children report that their lives are safe and peaceful. A Stable Home means A greater sense of community. Increased attendance and improved performance in school for children. Happier, healthier families. Survivors have HOPE for the future.
