Dress Code Must wear City issued shirt
Casual or Athletic pant/short permitted Shorts cannot be shorter than 1 hand length above knee cap No leggings Denim permitted on Fridays no holes, frayed, or cut-off. Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times Department issued hats – worn ONLY in front facing position

Opening Procedure Upon entering the building staff should police the premises, for trash including the parking lot. Staff should unlock all gym doors and entry doors. Check restrooms for cleanliness, and make sure it is properly stocked with toiletries. Gym floors should be swept to insure that the floors are in a safe playing condition.

Game Setup At least ten chairs on each side of the scorers table should be set up. The chairs should be placed along the side of the wall to provide a proper team area. Ensure that all basketball goals in gym 2/3 are at regulation height. Scorers table should include the following: a score book, game ball, two pencils, score board controller, 1st Aid Kit, and four chairs for staff and officials.

Make certain that all score books are filled out properly. The teams name and players first name and last initial should be included. Pass out all City of Safety Harbor marketing material that is issued by the athletic supervisor. In between games, staff is responsible for policing the lobby, sweeping floor between games, and checking restrooms for cleanliness. In any case in which the athletic supervisor is not present staff is responsible for all coaches, players and fans to adhere to the leagues code of conduct. Staff should handle all incidents in a timely and professional manner. Incident/Accident reports need to be completed.

If a player is injured staff is responsible for providing immediate assessment to determine what level of injury has occurred. First aid kit can be found in Athletic Supervisor’s office behind front desk. Extra supplies can be found behind front desk by the far left computer in the second drawer marked “FIRST AID” Ziploc bags for ice can be found in the kitchen in a drawer next to the ice machine. If a game official fails to show up, the Athletic Supervisor keeps a schedule with telephone numbers of all officials on the cork board in his office. After the games are complete ensure all game equipment is returned to its proper place and all gyms are ready for the next day.

Closing Procedure Wipe down water fountains in Gyms and Lobby
Check that all plugs have protective covers Dust mop floor Be sure exit doors are LOCKED Put any chairs and tables away Lock storage closet doors Move bleachers and put in the up position Spot mop Check storage closets to be sure they are organized and are easily accessible Turn off lights (keep fluorescent lights on) Pick up trash, empty trash cans, and replace with new bag Take trash out to dumpster Pick up trash & empty trash cans Empty bottle recycle can into blue recycle bins just outside kitchen door Check restrooms for cleanliness and restock all toiletries
