The Amateur Swimming Association of Fiji was formed in President/Secretary/Treasurer and nominated delegates. Only one swimming club - Suva Amateur Swimming Club until 1967 Dolphin Swimming Club Founded using the Suva Olympic Pool Nadi Airport -1986, Tritons (Dolphin), Barracuda , Mako – 2006, Schools were developing swimmers - mid to late 1990’s

14 Fiji Swimming Sub-Committees
These committees are the backbone of Fiji Swimming as it activates all the goals of the organisation. They are made up of volunteers and reporting directly to the executives but heavily involved in the activities of FS. TRACC (Technical, Registration, Administration, Coaches Competitions) Sponsorship - To source funds, writing proposals and Sponsorship for Fiji Swimming Development - identifies and Set up programs for all Fiji Swimmers Selection - Involved in the selection of Swimmers to represent Fiji at International Meets

15 Fiji Swimming Affiliations
Fiji Swimming (FS formerly Amateur Swimming Association of Fiji till 2006) is the National Governing Body for Swimming, Open Water Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Synchronised Swimming and Masters Swimming in Fiji. FS has been a member of FINA, the International Swimming Federation since 1974, and a member of the Oceania Swimming Association since 1991. FS is also affiliated to the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) and has had a colorful sporting history in Fiji for the past number of years.

16 Objectives and Purposes of FS Changed
The objectives and purposes of Fiji Swimming are: To act as the sole controller and governing body of swimming and its disciplines in Fiji, ensuring consistency in the application of FINA Rules and Regulations To promote and encourage the sports of swimming, open water swimming, water polo, diving, synchronised swimming and masters swimming and the teaching thereof throughout Fiji without distinction between persons for reason of race, colour, creed or politics To represent the sport of swimming in negotiations with government, the National Olympic Committee and other such like bodies To co-ordinate and foster the activities of swimming clubs in Fiji

17 Objectives and Purposes of FS Changed
The objects and purposes of Fiji Swimming con’t: To regulate and promote all aspects of competitive swimming in Fiji and to provide a uniform set of rules for the conduct of all swimming competitions in Fiji To establish the criteria for the selection of swimmers to represent Fiji in international swimming competitions and to select and send those eligible within such criteria To affiliate with the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC), Oceania Swimming Association (OSA) and FINA To actively promote the elimination of the use of prohibited substances and techniques from the sport of swimming in Fiji, and to impose sanctions on Members committing doping offences as outlined in the By-Laws FS Constitution
