Starfish Lifecycle Adult Starfish Fragmentation of limb
Starfish are asexual reproducers because the new organism is reproduced from a single parent. However, not all starfish are asexual reproducers. Some species of star fish send out eggs to be fertilized by the male starfish. This is called spawning. The new embryos live in the open water amongst plankton. Limb regeneration Fragmented limb begins to develop star formation

Sexual Reproducers Sexual Reproduction
Reproduction is dependent on fertilization. External fertilization- out of body experience where eggs and sperm are released into the water by either one or both sexes. This fertilization technique requires water because animal sperm must be able to swim to the eggs. Internal fertilization- practiced by species that lay shelled eggs or have a period of internal embryotic development. Dolphins reproduce sexually
Dolphins reproduce sexually. Dolphins are one of the only animals to engage is sexual reproduction for pleasure. According to National Geography, dolphins reproduce to create social bonds between colonies. Unlike some animals such as Gibbons and Swans who have mate for life partners, female dolphins will mate with a large variety of male dolphins to ensure they have the best chance of fertilizing their eggs. Dolphins give birth to live young, tail first. Female dolphins wait 3-4 years between claves. Dolphins carry their calves for up to 18 months. Dolphin Lifecycle Dolphins first mate and reproduce calves at around 8-10 years of age. Calves stay with their mothers for up to 6years
