Patient Requests for Telephone Consultations
Dear Patient
In view of the large amount of daily patient’s requests we receive for telephone consultations we have reviewed our procedure
To be able to be more efficient in managing telephone calls our reception staff may request further information from you
Our updated procedure is as follows:
Telephone consultation requests regarding acute medical problems will be dealt with on the day
Telephone consultation requests regarding:
Test results: If you are enquiring about test results, please call as normal; we will request test details from you. A member of our administrative team will then contact you at the end of each session to inform you of the doctors comments / advice regarding your results
Routine calls: To discuss letters, general & hospital reports and requesting letters; a clinician will contact you within 7 days
