4. Objectives
Increase stakeholder engagement in advancing fields of study in Public Health Systems Research (PHSR) with a special focus on Public Health Finance
Increase dissemination of key public health systems research findings to strengthen decision/policymaking
Increase literature on public health finance topics
Increase opportunities for structured dialogue on both topics
Attract a broader mix of stakeholders (policymakers, scholars, practitioners, scientist, etc)

5. WHY? PUBLIC HEALTH FINANCE PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM

PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM

6. Justifications
“Efforts at systematic nationwide studies of financing for public health have failed because of their exclusive focus on the budgets of state and local public health agencies rather than the funding of the public health system”
“Almost no data are available on how much would be needed to adequately build and sustain the necessary public health infrastructure”
