2 Street Performance or Busking - The act of performing in public places for gratuities. Street performance is practiced all over the world by men, women and children and dates back to antiquity. People engaging in this practice are called street performers or buskers. Busking - Playing music in the streets for money. You don't have to be homeless to participate. busking

3 My Story… Interviews with 2 or 3 Glasgow City buskers…
Meeting the performer, a brief back story. The reasons they busk? What rules/regulations they have to abide by when performing? Do they face any threats? If so how do they overcome them? And any other interesting facts/stories about life as a street performer. My Story…

4 The interviews and information will be presented to the listeners by a local, who has experience busking on the streets of Glasgow’s City Centre. The story arc will be based around these 3 interview topics: Why they became a busker? What challenges they face? How busking has bettered their lives? My Story…

5 Radio Station… My documentary will be made for BBC Radio 1.
The piece will be broadcast between 4-6pm, during the peak drive or commute home time (from school or work). I will use a current and modern approach to the presentation… Snappy section transitions. 6 The remit of Radio 1 is to entertain and engage a broad range of young listeners with a distinctive mix of contemporary music and speech. Its target audience is year olds and it should also provide some programming for younger teenagers. It should offer a range of new music, support emerging artists - especially those from the UK - and provide a platform for live music.
