Interesting facts!! Czech people are the world's heaviest consumers of beer. Skoda Auto, the large European car manufacturer, is from the Czech Republic. The most popular sports in the Czech Republic are ice hockey, football, sport shooting, tennis, basketball, volleyball, handball, and athletics. The Simpson’s Duff beer IS real and you can buy it in Czech Republic for less than 1 euro.

Plan for holiday- Spend two weeks in Czech Republic. Fly to Prague, stay in a hotel for 5 days and go visit Prague Castle. Get train to Kutná Hora and spend 4 nights in a hotel and visit the Italian Court. Get another train to Brno and spend 5 days there and visit the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul and The Moravian Karst region. Fly to London Stansted and then fly back to Dublin from Brno.

Flights and Travel- 10 euro per person to Dublin airport on green bus, 40 euro to airport and back. Flight from Dublin to Prague, Tuesday 12th of April €32 per adult with Ryanair, costing €64. Car brings both adults to hotel from the airport for €23. Get taxi to train station for 7.72 euro. Take train from Prague Main train station to Kutná Hora, tickets costing 104 CZK = €3.84 per adult, takes 1 to 2hrs, depending on speed of train. Walk to the hotel, 6 minutes. Train from Kutná Hora to Brno coting 450 CZK = €16.60 for two adults, 3hr journey. Taxi to hotel cost 2.88 euro. Taxi from hotel to airport costs euro. Flight from Brno to London Stansted with Ryanair, Tuesday 26th of April €46 for two adult and flight on the same day to Dublin for €31 for two adult.

Location 1- Prague Length of stay- Tuesday 12th of April to Saturday 16th of April Accommodation- Hotel Bishop's House. Tourist attraction - Prague Castle
Prague Castle, once the home of Bohemia's kings, is today the official residence of the Czech Republic's President and one of the city's most visited tourist attractions. It was originally built as a walled fortress around 970 AD. Within the castle walls are a number of Prague's most popular tourist sites, including St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George's Basilica, the Powder Tower, the Old Royal Palace, and the Golden Lane. It is the largest ancient castle in the world. Cost- Prague Castle -Circuit A = 350 CZK per adult = 700 CZK = €25.85

Location 2- Kutná Hora Length of stay: Sunday 17th April to Wednesday 20th April Accommodation: Hotel Zlata Stoupa A 4 star hotel in the centre of the town, 6 minute walk from Kutná Hora mesto station and a 5 minute walk from the Italian Court. Cost: €78 per night for a double room x4 nights = €312 Info: A beautiful town located 80km east of Prague, Kutná Hora has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the past it was the home of Europe’s biggest silver mines.

Tourist Attraction- The Italian Court
The Italian Court is the home of the town’s old mint where the silver coins were produced in the middle ages. It was also the home of several generations of bohemian kings. The court building dates from the twelfth century. Cost: 85 CZK per adult = 170 CZK = €6.29

Location 3 - Brno Length of stay- Thursday 21st of April to Monday 25th of April Accommodation: Parkhotel 4 star hotel 3.6km from the city centre with free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Cost: €113 per night x5= €565 Info: Brno is the 2nd largest city in the Czech republic and is the capital of the province of Moravia. It is a historic town with plenty of tourist attractions and places to stay. Brno is the seat of judicial authority in the country- all the courts are located there.

Tourist Attraction 1 - Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul
This beautiful church is an important national monument. It features an extravagant baroque interior and ornate statues both on the outside and inside as well as two 84m tall twin towers that were added at the start of the 20th century. It is well worth a visit for lovers of art and sculpture. Cost: 35 CZK per adult = 70 CZK = €2.59

Tourist Attraction 2- The Moravian Karst region
The Moravian Karst region 25km north of Brno covers 100 square kilometres. It is a rare limestone landscape. It boasts some very impressive underground features including 1,100 known caves and gorges and the famous Macocha Abyss, an enormous chasm which is one of four areas open to the public. The abyss has viewing platforms and walking trails for visitors to enjoy. Cost: 60 min tour = 100 CZK per adult = 200 CZK = €7.40
