GOALS OF today’s session
Understand the roles and responsibilities of those involved in the research module (interns, preceptors, site coordinators, DEC, RAC) Identify forms and guidelines most pertinent to the start of the research module Reflect on how professionalism applies in the research module

Roles and responsibilities - interns
Responsible for meeting all project deadlines Ensure equal distribution of workload among interns Keep preceptors informed of deadlines and project progress Seek preceptor input on all documents/presentations prior to submission

Select project and ensure it meets requirements (prior to September) Act as facilitator, resource person, and reviewer through all phases of the research process Provide constructive feedback Complete individual evaluation at end of the year

Internship Site Coordinator(s) Support projects as needed May serve as PI, co-investigator, and/or preceptor UBC Dietetics Education Coordinator (DEC) Leads research module activities Serves as co-investigator on all projects Chairs RAC Research Advisory Committee Reviews research project ideas and proposals Establishes module requirements
