2. Course Outline Assessment
Design Wood Technology is an integral part of the total curriculum at Ringwood college. As a practical based subject its major emphasis is on the development of the students knowledge and skills in the use of available equipment, both hand and power. The students acquire knowledge of tools, machines, materials and design work.
Skills involved in this subject are useful throughout life and may well assist students to make decisions about their career path.
Assessment
Assessment will be based on the development of design ideas, theory and practical work plus the completion of a digital diary of the processes used to make their major project

3. Topics Covered
Design - Design Brief/Ideas/Plans/Drawings Isometric Orthographic,CAD
Production - Use of Tools, Materials, Machines, Processes to construct a Major Project
Evaluation - Use of Digital Technology to Evaluate the Finished Product.

4. Major Project
Over the course of one semester 6.5 periods per fortnight Students will from a Design Brief, Design, Construct and Evaluate a Small Table.
