Some advertisements create low self-esteem in women by portraying unrealistic images of the body.

TV may help teach children how to behave appropriately. (e.g. Sesame Street). Also, children's television shows have helped children count and read.

-The media represents one of the “nurture” factors that influences our sense of self. -The media shapes so much of our life, such as our political views, values, attitudes, our perception of beauty and a sense of what is and is not important.
