3 4 Ocean and Regional Vessels

4 R/V Pourquoi Pas ? Coastal and deep seas mapping and oceanographic missions, with multibeam utilization Survey of areas with a capacity of deployment of two acoustic vehicles (towed sonar as SAR), ROVs (Victor 6000) or autonomous submarine (Nautile) Sampling and analyzing of water, deposit or bedrocks with deployement of bathysonds/CTD, piston corers, dredges,... Deployement of seismic systems.

11 Ifremer submarine systems

12 Manned submarine Nautile (1985)
Main caractéristics : Operational depth : m Weight : 19,5 t Length : 8 m Beam : 2,70 m Hight : 3,81 m Crew : 2 pilots + 1 scientist Internal diameter : 2,10 m Titanium Autonomy (work on the sea-floor) : 5 h Security : autonomy 120 h

13 Deep sea ROV Victor 6000 (1998) Victor 6000 is an ROV able to work at 6000 m depth for 3 days Main caractéristics : Operational depth : m Weight : 4 t length : 3,15 m Beam : 2,70 m Height : 1,80 m Speed ahead : 1,5 knts Lateral and vertical speed : 1 knt

14 ROV Victor 6000 measurement module (2007)

15 Penetrometer Penfeld It’s a seabed tool that measures geotechnical parameters in the sediment thanks to an instrumented rod/cone. The penetrometer is designed to work up to 6000 m depth. The rode penetreates into the sediment over 30 meters.

16 Two AUVs (Aster X, Idef X)
Characteristics : Weight < 1T Length 4.5m Autonomy : 100km Depth 3000m Speed : 1 – 5 knts Payloads : 200kg (air)

17 Upcoming Submarine Equipment
H-ROV ARIANE New AUV 6000m (CORAL project)

18 Seismic systems Mutichannels heavy system High resolution 2D
Rapid Seismic system Sparker Sysif
