Because of religious persecution, they left England and eventually came to America on the Mayflower

Anne Hutchinson openly criticized the Puritan church in Massachusetts and held Bible studies in her home.
She was banished and fled to Rhode Island
Rev. John Wheelwright and his followers founded the New Hampshire colony after he was banished from Massachusetts
