Willipus-wallipus – a big monster of early America. Goals – Discuss the assignment for TKAM. Begin some pre-writing activities. Homework –Complete the handout, “Journal: Bending the Law.” Study for Vocab. #25 on Friday.

2 English 10 – 4/25/17 Discuss some big idea that you have thought of during this unit that might be worth exploring in your paper. Do they sterilize the needles for lethal injections? Anglophobia – a dislike for England and things English. Coined by Thomas Jefferson. Goals – Develop a working thesis, hook, and transition. Homework – Complete the first three parts of your opening paragraph. Write it on your daily work below your opener. Don’t forget to study for Quiz # 25 Friday.

3 English /26/17 What are the most shocking and dramatic things you have read or seen in this unit. Explain why. Why isn’t “phonetic” spelled the way it sounds? Teratism – love of monsters. Goals – Work on Hook and “Transition” Sentences for your intro paragraph. Introduce “Noun Absolute.” Homework – Finish whatever you did not get done in class. Study for Vocab. #25 on Friday.

4 English 10 – 4/27/17 What are the three or four most compelling quotes from the book that involve the subject or controlling idea of your thesis. You may paraphrase. If a cow laughed would milk come out of its nose? Manticore – a monster with the head of a man, body of a lion, and tail of a dragon. Goals – Work on the “map.” Introduce structure of the body paragraph. Work on Key word transition between map and first body paragraph. Homework – Study for Vocab. #25 on tomorrow.

Homework – Complete hand written introduction paragraph and Try to get the topic sentence and quote for each body paragraph.
