2. Self Plating Program This program allows 3rd Party companies to:
Issue registrations
Issue plates
Issue decals

3. Self Plating Program Current participation numbers: 28 car dealers
Four rental car agencies
Three IDS locations statewide

4. Self Plating Program Participation Requirements:
Must pass a background check with the DMV, Utah State Tax Commission and Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division (MVED)
A $75,000 dealer bond with MVED
A “pre-paid” account. In order to process transactions there must be money in the account.
Must close “shipments” each day and send paperwork via a commercial carrier to the DMV
Undergo an audit each year

5. On the Spot Renewal Program (OTS)
This program allows 3rd party companies to:
Issue registrations
Issue decals (motor vehicle, off-highway, snowmobile and watercraft)
Current participation: 490 stations

6. On the Spot Renewal Program (OTS)
Participation Requirements:
Must pass a background check with the DMV and Utah State Tax Commission
A $10,000 bond with the DMV
Must use the DMV approved provider (UII)
All payments must be made with a credit card
Undergo random audits
Penalties are in place for errors in issuing decals
