About me… From East Tennessee 5 Generations Dairy and “Apple Farm”
B.S. Nutritional Science, Knoxville. Graduate Degree from Cal. State Long Beach Married to Craig Abbey and Mom of 4 children: Jessica 26, Adam 22, who is in Seattle, Erin 15 at LHS, and Jacklyn 11 (Maywood Middle) Taught Liberty 5 years & 13 in California.

Teaching Academy This is a full year class that will equip students with skills to assist in our Elementary Schools as interns during the Spring 2018. If you sign up for Tech Prep, you will receive 5 credits for a B or better. Students must provide own transportation. An opportunity to work with a variety of teachers in all subject areas, including Music and PE .

Teaching Academy Educational Leadership: Students will be expected to join and participate in the Family and Consumer Sciences leadership club FCCLA.($15.00) If students have financial hardships, the fee will be waived, please discuss this with the teacher. You must have 120 total points!! Attending 6 meetings or events.

FCCLA Come and join FCCLA (Family Career Community Leaders of America). It is a great way to be involved in local leadership activities along with competitive opportunities in the areas of Family and Consumer Sciences. Our 1st meeting is September 13th in room 5137 at 9:40-10:00am Nicole Winters 2106 National Silver Winner

Leadership Points Each project is related to a specific unit, where you will be able to use the skills you have learned in class to complete each of the projects. There will be an introduction to each of the projects in class, along with additional class time to work on the projects.

Leadership (Cont) Each project will have specific requirements that will be listed on a rubric that will be explained during the introduction to the project. Attending FCCLA meetings regularly are 20 points per meeting. You will also have to attend ALL events that are put on by the FCCLA club. Leadership 20 % of this class.
